The 4th Annual Step Out with the USO fundraiser brings together corporate sponsors, donors, patriotic citizens, military members and their families, local business and community members and USO volunteers for and evening of food and fun. The evening includes a variety of delicious foods, silent auction, basket raffles, 50/50 raffle, DJ music and dancing. Proceeds from this event support the complimentary amentities and services enjoyed by the guests of the Dulles Airport USO.
About this fundraiser:
USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore's 4th Annual Step Out with the USO will take place on April 25, 2014. This event benefits the USO Lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport and supports services provided for traveling military and their families.
Step Out with the USO gives the Dulles community an opportunity to create moments that count for our traveling military members and their loved ones. The event takes place at the Dulles Marriott and draws in patriotic citizens, military leadership, local business and community leaders, and USO volunteers.
About the Dulles USO Airport Lounge:
Each year, more than 24,000 military and their loved ones are assisted at the USO Dulles Lounge where we provide a place for weary military to sleep during long layovers, or a cup of coffee in the early morning hours, or a place to freshen up before meeting family members they may have not seen for months or years. The Dulles USO Lounge truly serves as a home-away-from-home for military and their families traveling the globe in defense of our nation.
As one of the main transfer points for our Families of the Fallen service program, the Dulles USO Lounge offers comfort and care services to our nation's heroes and their loved ones. The Dulles USO Lounge provides respite and comfort to grieving families traveling to Dover to witness the return of their loved ones or traveling to military installations for memorial services. Our dedicated volunteers provide these family members with travel assistance, take care of their immediate on-site needs and oftentimes simply a shoulder to lean on.
About USO-Metro:
USO-Metro is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive no funds from the federal government and rely solely on the ongoing support of local companies and the community to make our work possible. Proceeds from this event directly support the USO Lounge at Dulles.
