Throughout the year USO-Metro organizes numerous activities and events at family support centers, military hospitals and local military installations. In addition to financial support, USO-Metro sponsors often have the opportunity to provide company volunteers at these events as well.

 Operation Community Connection (Twice a year)

This event is designed specifically to help military families with service personnel who are or will be deploying to the war zone. Corporate signage on-site, excellent employee volunteer opportunities on event days, on-site tabling, PR, and media opportunities are all available,

Operation Basic Bootcamp (Four times per year)

Operation Basic Bootcamp is a program for local military teens between 12-17. Through this event military children are given the opportunity to get a glimpse of what theur active duty parent experienced during basic training.  USO-Metro aims to create a hands-on learning experience that will help military children realize the significance of their parents' jobs.  Possible sponsor benefits include: corporate branding on Boot Camp promotional materials,  corporate logo on Boot Camp t-shirts, dog tags, or other event items, opportunity to have corporate signage on-site, media and PR opportunities, excellent corporate volunteerism opportunities on event day, and opportunity to donate budget relieving in-kind items to the program.

Turkeys for Troops (November)
Through the Turkeys for Troops program, we provide junior-enlisted service members and their families with a holiday food basket, complete with a grocery store gift card for a turkey and all the ingredients for a traditional holiday meal.  USO-Metro also works with WUSA Channel 9 to broadcast a telethon encouraging donations from the community.Sponsorship benefits include corporate branding on Turkeys for Troops materials, corporate sponsors logo on food boxes and gift card holders, PR opportunities.  Corporate volunteers have opportunity to assist in Turkeys for Troops food box stuffing and distribution  events.

Project USO Elf (December)
This event is a salute to our smallest military heroes, military children, and their families.  This program provides the children of junior-enlisted service members with holiday gifts from their "wish lists." For gift pick up we organize distribution events that provide an encouraging experience for military families by creating a festive atmosphere where they feel appreciated and supported by the community.  Wrapping/Beverage/Welcome Station sponsors enjoy corporate signage and branding on sponsored Project USO Elf "stations," employee volunteer opportunities at distribution events, media and PR opportunities.

Your USO Meal (YUM) (Year Round)
YUM is a response to the financial strain among military members, specifically among junior-enlisted.  The goal for the YUM program is to strengthen the sense of community among local service members by providing at least one free lunch or dinner per month at their local USO Center.  USO-Metro will work closely with the sponsor to determine the type of recognition and involvement desired.  Potential benefits include: Corporate logo featured on event signage and monthly Y.U.M. event advertising materials, sponsor recognition in USO Center materials, and hands-on volunteer opportunities for corporate volunteers.

Operation Game On  (February 2014) 
This program is designed to get service members out of their barracks and mingling with service members in all branches to boost morale and build a stronger sense of community.  Video gaming has always been one of the top amenities that troops enjoy at USO centers, service members create teams of five to play in this exciting tournament.  Sponsors will receive sorporate branding on all Game On Materials as well as signage on site at the event, Game On is also a great employee volunteer opportunity.

Project Cinderella (Spring 2014)
This event encourages all women to embrace their beauty by providing them with a variety of interactive workshops, gowns, and accesories. This event is designed to help offset the costs of expensive military balls and other formal functions that are all part of military life.  The event concludes with each attendee being able to shop a faux boutique to pick out the perfect gown and accessroies to take home and keep.

Movies on the Lawn:  A program designed to give service members and their families a fun night out with free outdoor movie showings at or near military installations in the Washington-Baltimore region.  Movies are shown on our giant inflatable AIRSCREEN movie screen. Movie attendees enjoy free popcorn, drinks, and other refreshments, as well as fun summer lawn games and raffle prizes. This program is aimed at building community and helping to strenghten military families. Corporate branding on MOTL promotional materials, event signage, and in-kind donation opportunities.  MOTL events also include optional employee volunteerism and tabling opportunities.

Operation Back to School (August)

This event is a one day program for military children between the ages of 5-12.  The event is a great way for kids to meet new friends before the school year starts while participating in fun activities that incorporate school subjects.  All children in attendence leave with a backpack stuffed with school supplies for the coming year.  Sponsorship opportunities include corporate signage on site, branding on program materials and on special tag on backpacks, employees can help man education stations, opportunity to supply backpack contents.  Employee volunteers also have the opportunity to volunteer at a stuffing party to assemble the backpacks.
