USO Metro is excited to team up with Potomac River Running for the Firecracker 5K for the troops taking place on the 4th of July! This patriotic race is a great way for the local community to celebrate Independence day while supporting our troops and their families! Runners of all ages can participate in the 5K race that starts and ends in Reston Town Center. The race will also feature a "Battle of the Branches" competition in which active duty military members represent their branch of service by racing in the event.
Net proceeds from the event's corporate sponsors will be donated to USO-Metro to help fund critical programs and services that serve the nearly 300,000 military members living in the Washington-Baltimore region and the 150,000 who travel through local airports each year.
