The USO-Metro/AFCEA-DC Golf Classic is the DC area's premier networking event for communications and electronics professionals. Each year, leading defense contractors from the national capital region and leaders from the military and federal government get together for a fun-filled day where they connect with colleagues, network with new friends and compete for prizes while supporting a great cause.
Participants in the USO-Metro/AFCEA-DC Golf Classic begin their day bright and early with breakfast and registration. Then, throughout the day participants enjoy drinks, snack, and cigars on the course! Activities include Beat the Pro, Hole in One, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin competitions in addition to the opportunity to meet and golf with wounded warriors from local military medical facilities. The day culminates with an awards luncheon complete with raffles, a silent auction and a grand prize!
Not only is the USO-Metro/AFCEA-DC Golf Classic a great way to spend the day, this exciting event generates funds to support the troops. Proceeds from the tournament help USO-Metro serve more than 500,000 troops and their families each year throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland and Northern Virginia. Additionally, part of the proceeds generated at this tournament go to support the AFCEA-DC scholarship competition, providing funding to students seeking degrees in science, engineering and mathematics.
