The USO Warrior and Family Center at Bethesda serves as a home away from home for our troops and their families and a place of healing for our nation's wounded troops and their caregivers.
The 16,217 square-foot building is located on Naval Support Activity, home of Walter Reed Military Medical Center and provides space for USO programs and activities that support the following key components to the USO's continuum of care:
- Physical health and recreation
- Family strengthening
- Positive behavioral health
- Education
- Employment
- Community reintegration
Wounded, ill and injured troops and their families face difficult challenges during the recovery and transition process, especially while receiving medical treatment. It is the USO's goal that this center will give them a home away from home while they recover so that they may heal with honor. This center - through its comforts and plethora of activities discussed throughout this document - will contribute significantly to each service man and woman's rehabilitation process and help their caregivers receive the support and comfort they so richly deserve.
USO Warrior and Family Center at Bethesda located on the campus of Naval Support Activity Bethesda, home of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center opened on April 2, 2014.
