Indian Head

Our Indian Head facility re-opened last year after a complete renovation! Stop by and watch a movie, read a book, play video games or use our Wi-fi or computer lab.

Naval Support Facility Indian Head was founded in 1890 and was the Navy's first established presence in southern Maryland. Surrounded by the Potomac River and Mattawoman Creek, Indian Head is home to 360 base residents and is situated less than 30 miles south of the nation's capital. Today's military community on board Naval Support Facility Indian Head represents a diverse and strategically important mix of research and development activities, alongside operational support programs that are protecting the U.S. homeland from terrorist threats, as well as serving U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Army forces deployed worldwide on a daily basis.

Troops and families can stop by and watch a movie, read a book, play video game or use our Wi-fi or computer lab. In addition, this center features a fully stocked food pantry and active food assistance program.
