The USO of Metropolitan Washington has a number of events, programs and services that are available for sponsorship. If you are interested in any of the sponsorship opportunities below, please use the form at the bottom of this page to send us an e-mail. If you are an individual interested in making a donation, please visit our donation page.
USO-Metro will work closely with your company to develop a sponsorship package that is mutually beneficial. We look forward to working with you to determine the best possible way to recognize your generosity.

USO Airport Lounges
USO International Gateway Lounge
International Pier, Lower Level, BWI Airport, MD
Daily, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The USO International Gateway Lounge at Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport is the flagship of the USO organization worldwide. USO-Metro serves an average of 5,000 service members and their families each month making it one of the busiest USO lounges in the world. Over 200 volunteers staff the lounge and provide direct guest services, which are always free to our customers. This location features baggage storage, unlimited global long distance calls, restrooms with changing stations, computers with Internet service, wireless Internet, photocopying and fax services, large screen TV, sleeping room, nursery and snack bar. The USO BWI has received the Governor’s Service Award and was recently honored by the BWI Business Partnership as the “2008 Organization of the Year.”

International Airport at Dulles Lounge
Across from Baggage Claim 12, Dulles, VA
Daily, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
With just a year under its belt as of April, the Dulles lounge averages 2,500 people per month with 150 volunteers staffing the lounge and providing direct guest services. Services are always free for military and their families. This location features unlimited global long distance, computers with Internet service, wireless Internet, photocopying and fax services, large screen TV and snack bar.

DCA Airport Lounge
Between Terminals A and B on the main level walkway
Daily, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
In March, a new lounge at Reagan National was constructed and relocated to a larger area within the airport and service hours were expanded. This location currently serves an average of 1,000 people per month with 110 volunteers and numbers that continue to rise. The lounge at Regan National features unlimited global long distance, computers with Internet service, wireless Internet, photocopying and fax services, large screen TV and snack bar.

Programs & Services
Throughout the year USO-Metro organizes numerous activities and events at family support centers, military hospitals and local military installations. In addition to financial support, USO sponsors often have the opportunity to provide company volunteers at these events as well.
Deployed Family Fun Day (Twice annually – May 30 & September 26, 2009)
This event is designed specifically to help military families with service personnel who are or will be deploying to the war zone. The event features informational tables for the adults to get necessary information from military organizations regarding deployment. For the children we offer fun activities and games that introduce them to other kids going through similar experiences.

Mother’s Day
This celebration recognizes the military mom. We work closely with the embassies in the area to create a special display of cakes, including a cake from the White House. There are activities for children to make a gift for mom and spa-like activities for the moms.

Sponsorship opportunities available ($1,000 each)
USO-Metro Guide to Washington & Baltimore – 50,000 issues are distributed annually through local military commands and at each of our 14 USO locations. The Guide is officially sanctioned by the military.

Special Events
NDIA Golf Tournament (April 19, 2010) – This benefit golf tournament is held annually at Andrews Air Force Base, MD, and is attended by military and corporate guests.

Sponsorship opportunities available ($1,000+)
AFCEA Golf Tournament (July 26, 2010) – This benefit golf tournament is held annually at the Lansdowne Golf Resort in Loudoun County, VA, and is attended by DoD industry leaders and senior military officials.

Sponsorship opportunities available ($4,000+)
Casino Night (October 15, 2010) - This is an open-to-the-public fundraiser with casino games, food, entertainment, silent and live auctions.

Sponsorship opportunities are available ($2,500+)
Oktoberfest (October 29, 2010) – A German Oktoberfest celebration fundraiser conducted by our volunteers and supporters. This event is held in Glen Burnie, MD. Approximately 300 attend the event including USO volunteers and area residents. Last year, 20 active duty service members from Fort Meade were able to attend the event for free because of donors who generously purchased their tickets.

Sponsorship opportunities are available ($250+)
Salute to Veterans and Their Families (November 2010) – This is a ceremony and reception co-sponsored by the Maryland Aviation Administration to honor veterans. The event features presentations by military leaders and the 2008 keynote speaker was Congressman Sarbanes. 200 attendees include BWI Airport staff and tenants, USO volunteers, members of veteran organizations and the local business community.

Hospital Services
Texas Hold’em Poker Tournaments – Held twice monthly at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, each tournament usually has 50+ personnel playing. Sponsoring companies may provide staff volunteers to support this event.

Sponsorship opportunities are available ($1,000 per tournament)
Celebrity Handshake Tours – USO arranges visits by more than 100 entertainers and athletes annually, to visit with and spread some cheer to returning warriors recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center.

Sponsorship opportunities are available ($10,000+)
Concerts – USO produces approximately four concerts each year at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Approximately 150-200 patients and family members attend, and a meal is provided. Artists have included Jimmy Buffett, Darryl Worley and The Beach Boys.

Trip Sponsor – USO arranges off-site trips to concerts, sporting events and dinner for patients and their family members.
