Only enter the drawing if you are 100% sure you can attend the event. If you are a winner and you do not show to pick up your tickets or if the seat you accepted tickets to is left empty USO Metro will implement a 90 day wait period for you to receive tickets in the future.  

USO-Metro asks that you do not call ticket donors or venues directly in search of additional tickets or services.  This may cause problems that could affect the future of our Ticket Program. If a donor contacts us to report such contact you will be banned from the receiving future tickets through our program.

The tickets received from USO-Metro are not transferrable or to be resold.  If you cannot use tickets received from us please return them to the ticketline office for proper distribution.  If you resell or transfer tickets received from USO-Metro you will be banned from receiving future tickets through our program.

Washington Nationals Me and a Friend Program - presented by SAIC

When: July 6, 2014 at 1:35p.m.; A picnic lunch will precede the game at 12:00p.m. with visits from mascots and children are invited to run the bases following the game. 

Where: Nationals Stadium; Lunch is in the Kennedy Conference Room

Please join us for an afternoon of Washington Nationals baseball, a pregame picnic and family friendly activities, along with the excitement of running the bases!  The Washington Nationals Me and a Friend Program provides military dependents between the ages of 4 and 17 with the opportunity to attend a professional baseball game and invite a friend.  Each eligible dependent between ages 4 years and 17 years will receive a ticket for themselves and a friend.

Please register in the name of the active duty service member using a valid email address that is easily accessed.  Due to the number of tickets being distributed, notification via telephone is not possible.  This is a special event for military dependents and friends between the ages of 4 years and 17 years. There can be no more than two adults over the age of 17 years with each ticket request.  Void entries include but are not limited to:  duplicate entries, incomplete entries, entries for adults only.  Please enter the drawing only if you are able to attend the pre-game festivities as well.  The drawing will take place after 2:00p.m. on July 2, 2014.    ONLY WINNERS WILL BE CONTACTED VIA EMAIL.

Details:  Two tickets per active duty dependent aged 4 years to 17 years, tickets must be picked up at the front desk of the USO Warrior and Family Center, Ft. Belvoir.  Tickets must be picked up no later than noon (12:00p.m.) July 5, 2014

Blue Star Families' MilKidz Club has been invited again this year to march in America's National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. This annual event draws hundreds of thousands of spectators who line up along The District's famed Constitution Avenue and we want YOU to march with us in this patriotic, flag-waving red white and blue celebration of America's birthday!

Registration to participate in the Independence Day Parade closes on June 30, 2014 so names can be submitted to MilKidz.   Please visit:  Parade Registration

There are no tickets to pick up; if you are able to register, than you will be taking part in the parade.

Getting Paid to Talk:  An Introduction to Voice Over

Ever been told you have a great voice? From audio books and cartoons to documentaries, commercials, and more, this class will introduce you to the growing field of voice over. Today, the range of voices hired has grown dramatically from the days of announcers. Learn what the pros look for, how to prepare, and where to find work in your area! We'll discuss industry pros and cons and play samples from working voice professionals. In addition, you'll have an opportunity to record a short professional script under the direction of your instructor. This seminar is lots of fun, realistic, and a great first step for anyone interested in the voice over field.

Everyone in the class will also have an opportunity to record a short Voice Over for playback at the end of class. Your instructor will also be more than happy to offer you some basic voice feedback at the completion of the class.

Who should attend this seminar:

    Designed specifically for adults, though older children are welcome with parental accompaniment

    A great seminar for anyone who has been told they have a good voice

    Those who use their voices prominently in their occupations

    People with music or theater background

    Anyone who is interested in how voice-overs work and how people get started.
