Flower Empowered and Sarah Von Pollaro, founder of Urban Petals Floral Design, creates floral centerpieces for large events and then donates the pieces to various non-profit organizations the next day. They brought 45 beautiful centerpieces and several orchids which were displayed at an event at the Building Museum to the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir in June. Service members lined up, and we were out of the centerpieces within 10 minutes. For those who did not receive a centerpiece, Sarah and her volunteer helped make smaller arrangements or little bouquets and served around 70 people. As one service member walked away from the center, he said, "Someone's not sleeping on the sofa tonight!"
