Washington Redskins Rookies Visit USO Center at Bethesda

On June 5th, the Washington Redskins Rookies came out to visit the USO Warrior and Family Center at Naval Support Activity Bethesda for a fantastic afternoon of cornhole, autographs, raffles and delicious Missions BBQ.
Redskins Rookie, Zach Hocker said that they were, "giving back and being that able to be involved with the ones that serve our country. We won't be able to do anything compared to what they do for us, but just being able to be out here and give back and interact with these guys is just awesome."
Football fans, Army Sergeant Jasso and his 13-year-old son Trey came out to the event. Sergeant Jasso said, "Every time I deploy to and from, there has always been a USO to head in to, a warm cup of coffee, and chow. They've always been there for us. As a matter of fact, I was in the Dullus USO on my way back to Afghanistan the second time, and I actually read a book which they videotaped for me. And I sent it to my twins when they were 3 years old. They still have that book." United Through Reading's Military Program is just one of the many USO programs that bring families close even when distance separates them.
Offensive tackle, Morgan Moses said, "Just giving back and being out here with the wounded warriors and putting a smile on their face is something I love to do. Just making people happy by being out here talking to them, communicating with them, is really doing good."
Jane Rodgers, the Executive Director of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation explained, "Today's event is all about our relationship with the military and what we're calling the Redskins Rookie Community Club. And we want to expose our Rookies to what it means to give back in a variety of different areas. And today's visit is all about the military and creating that relationship so that our guys who are so privileged to be able to play in the NFL understand how important the military is in securing our freedoms to be able to do what we do and to say thank you and to have gratitude."
